Rural Health Transformation The Commonwealth of Kentucky will receive funding through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Rural Health Transformation Fund. Kentucky will use the $212.9 million award over five years to help address the unique health challenges in rural parts of the state. Community Health for Improved Lives and Development (CHILD Waiver) The Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) is implementing a new 1915(c) Home and Community Based Services waiver. The Community Health for Improved Lives and Development, or CHILD, waiver aims to keep individuals age 21 and younger with complex, multi-system needs safe, healthy, and as independent as possible within their communities and families. Anthem Managed Care Update Anthem Kentucky Managed Care Plan, Inc. is no longer a Kentucky Medicaid managed care organization, effective Jan. 1, 2025. The Kentucky Medicaid Anthem MCO Transition webpage includes additional information for affected members. Relative Content Changes Coming to Kentucky Medicaid in 2027 A federal law passed in 2025 is changing the rules for who can get Medicaid, and what a person must do to be enrolled. The changes include requiring people to work, volunteer, or go to school to stay covered, and shorter time between renewals. If you are age 19 to 64, these changes may affect you beginning January 1, 2027. Check out the Medicaid Changes website so you know what's coming and make sure you stay covered. Get Help Accessing Care If you are a Medicaid member and are having trouble getting the care you need, report it to Kentucky Medicaid using the Access to Care form so we can help! Access to Care Form Medicaid Open Records Request To request public records, please use the Team Kentucky Open Records Center. You can submit questions about the open records process to DMS at [email protected]. Open records are defined in Chapter 61 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes. If the records requested are in the custody of and maintained by another agency, a request must be submitted to that agency.
