Downtown Berlin Sunday Guide: Farmers Market to Local Favorites

Sundays in Berlin have a rhythm all their own. The beloved Berlin Farmer’s Market sets the tone from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (May through October) with live music, fresh produce, the kind of easy energy that makes you slow down and stay a while. But the real magic of a Berlin Sunday? The town itself. We put together the ultimate Sunday itinerary to help you make the most of it. Wander through the market booths, then follow this guide into the brick-and-mortar Chamber businesses that give our historic downtown its soul. 9:00 AM – Fuel Up for the Morning Before you dive into the market stalls, kick off your morning with great coffee and something worth savoring. Start on Bay Street, then make your way in: Baked Dessert Café: Just steps away on Bay Street, locally roasted coffee, savory breakfast bites, and all-natural sweets in a space that feels nothing like a chain. Café Berlin: Swing by for coffee and a proper sit-down start to your Sunday. Then, once you’re inside the market: Boulangerie Berlin: Keep an eye out for their booth, 100% gluten-free baked goods and artisanal treats worth the stop. Cast 26 Coffee: Pick up one of their locally roasted blends right at the market on Sundays. Gilbert’s Provisions: Always worth a stop.  They bring something special to market weekends, so check what they’re serving up. 10:00 AM – Explore the Market & Discover Downtown Flavors Coffee in hand, it’s time to wander. The market’s regional farm booths are the heart of it all, fresh produce, local honey, the works, but don’t overlook the downtown brick-and-mortar businesses woven into the experience. Una Bella Salute: Step inside their downtown shop to sample and take home premium extra virgin olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars. The kind of pantry finds you didn’t know you needed until you try them. 12:30 PM – Unwind with a Local Lunch As the market winds down around 1:00 PM, beat the rush and grab a table at one of the local spots just steps from the main gates: The Atlantic Hotel: Lunch at Berlin’s beautifully restored 1895 landmark. Drummer’s Café offers outdoor seating and an upscale but unhurried midday menu. Counter Clox Restaurant: Brick-oven pizzas, flame-seared steaks, and craft cocktails in a space with its own personality. The Sterling: A Berlin favorite with a menu and atmosphere worth lingering over. Rayne’s Reef: A laid-back local spot perfect for wrapping up a morning well spent. On Thin Ice: Cool off with handcrafted ice cream just steps from the market. 2:00 PM – Afternoon on Main Street The market may be wrapped up, but Berlin is just getting started. One of America’s coolest small towns earns that title street by street, so take your time and explore: Bruder Hill: Coastal gifts and finds that actually feel like the shore. East and Main Shore Supply and Apparel: Eastern Shore style done right. Victorian Charm: Unique pieces with personality to spare. Viking Trading Co.: Eclectic men’s clothing and accessories worth a browse. Treasure Cove Shoppe: The kind of shop where you always leave with something. World of Toys: A must if you have kids in tow, and honestly, even if you don’t. 4:00 PM – Soak It All In Before you head home, take a little time to dig into what makes Berlin so distinctly itself: The Calvin B. Taylor House Museum: A peaceful stop to explore Berlin’s rich local heritage inside a beautifully preserved historic home. The Mermaid Museum: Quirky, fun, and completely one of a kind. Exactly the kind of place Berlin does better than anywhere else. The Ghost Museum: If you’re curious about the darker and stranger side of the Shore, this is your stop. Parking & Planning Made Easy Not sure where to park? The Town of Berlin has custom parking maps to help you navigate town without the guesswork. However you found your way to Berlin today, whether for the Farmer’s Market or a full weekend away, we’re glad you’re here. See you downtown. Stephen Decatur Park to Get Improvements

"For more information, contact: Kate Daub, Special Projects Administrator 410-641-4002 / [email protected]   May 1, 2026 For Immediate Release…  Town of Berlin Announces Exciting Enhancements Coming to Stephen Decatur Park Berlin, MD – The Town of Berlin is pleased to announce upcoming improvements to Stephen Decatur Park that will enhance visitor comfort and restore key recreational features for the community. Construction of a new comfort station with permanent restroom facilities is expected to begin in the coming weeks. The structure will be located adjacent to the public parking lot on the right, near the playground area. While no roadway closures are anticipated, parking availability in this lot will be temporarily limited during construction. Visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly when visiting the park. In addition to the comfort station, improvements to the playground area will also take place. Several pieces of playground equipment damaged during the most recent winter storm will be replaced as part of the park enhancements. Although both projects are expected to be completed in a relatively short timeframe, the Town asks the public to remain outside designated work zones while construction and repairs are underway to ensure the safety of all park visitors. The Town of Berlin appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as these improvements progress and looks forward to providing enhanced amenities for residents and visitors alike. For updates on this project and other Town initiatives, please visit the Town of Berlin’s website or follow the Town’s official social media channels.   ### The post Town of Berlin Announces Exciting Enhancements Coming to Stephen Decatur Park appeared first on Town of Berlin."
