Dense Fog Advisory for Morning Commute South of I-70
A Special Weather Statement has been issued for dense fog south of I-70 in several counties, urging drivers to use caution during the morning commute on Monday, October 5th.
Drivers south of I-70 in Belmont, Monroe, Greene, Fayette, Fayette Ridges, Marshall, Wetzel, Marion, Monongalia, Ridges of Eastern Monongalia and Northwestern Preston, Preston, Eastern Preston, Western Tucker, and Eastern Tucker counties should exercise extreme caution this morning, Monday, October 5th, due to patchy dense fog. The National Weather Service (NWS) Pittsburgh has issued a Special Weather Statement, effective from 3:00 AM EDT until approximately 9:00 AM EDT.
Visibility in some areas may be reduced to one-quarter mile or less. The NWS advises motorists to slow down, use low beam headlights, and maintain extra distance between their vehicle and others. The fog is expected to dissipate by mid-morning.
