Deer Park Schools Win 14th National Music Award
The Deer Park School District received the Best Communities for Music Education Award from the NAMM Foundation for the 14th consecutive year, recognition that places the district among a select group nationally for excellence in music programming.
The NAMM Foundation evaluates districts based on funding, staffing, course offerings, and participation rates. Deer Park maintains music programs from elementary through high school, with band, choir, and orchestra serving hundreds of students annually.
"This honor reflects a true community effort," Fine and Performing Arts Director Bradley Murphy said. "Our educators, families, and students all play a vital role in sustaining a vibrant and inclusive music program."
The award, now in its 27th year, honors districts that demonstrate leadership in advancing music education and expanding access for all students. The NAMM Foundation, affiliated with the National Association of Music Merchants, has recognized school music programs since 1999.
