Faith and Service: A Catholic university founded in 1870 by the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians), St. John's students, faculty, and staff performed nearly 140,000 hours of service in one year alone.
Athletics: St. John's is home to 17 Division I teams, with men's basketball team playing select home games at Madison Square Garden. Club and intramural sports available including bowling and eSports.

Luke Roth '16CPS, from Cornwall, NY: Came to St. John's for the New York City experience, Catholic faith, proximity to home, and Division I sports program. Now runs a State Farm agency that has been first in auto policy production for the last two years and ranks in the top ten for auto and fire insurance production.
Recent News:
Accepted Student Day Sparks Passion for St. John's (April 8, 2025): St. John's welcomed more than 1,800 future students and families to the Queens campus.
Nursing Pledge Milestone (November 14, 2024): The second cohort of nursing students made the symbolic transition from classroom learners to clinical caregivers at a ceremony in Marillac Hall Auditorium on November 12.
Fall Open House 2024 (November 1, 2024): Nearly 900 prospective students and families attended the undergraduate Fall Open House on October 27.
