**Special Weather Statement issued September 19 at 11:55AM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM**

At 1155 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles northwest of Santa Clara Pueblo, or 8 miles west of Espanola, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include... Espanola, Chimayo, Velarde, Santa Cruz, Cuartelez, La Puebla, Sombrillo, Embudo, Santa Clara Pueblo and Dixon.

This includes Highway 285 between Mile Markers 337 and 351...and between Mile Markers 358 and 359.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
