Monticello High School student advances to state math competition

Evan Chen qualified for the New York State Math League competition on April 18 in Albany, becoming the first Monticello High School student to reach the state meet in two decades.

Chen competed in the DUSO division during the regular season, representing schools from Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan and Orange counties. The state competition drew 300 of New York's top math students.
