22 Monticello High Graduates Earn NY Seal of Biliteracy
Twenty-two Monticello High School graduates earned the New York State Seal of Biliteracy, a distinction recognizing students who demonstrate high proficiency in English and at least one additional language.
The seal appears on diplomas and transcripts. Students met rigorous criteria in English and a partner language, completed a culminating project and presented their work to a panel.
Colleges may consider the seal in admissions decisions and may offer college credit or advanced placement. Employers in education, healthcare, business and public service value bilingualism.
The honorees are Mark A. Eng. Fo Valle, Jacob S. Sepulveda, Jessie D. Fuentes Bonilla, Logan I. Steward, Maybelin T. Lopez Herrera, Damaris Yanes, Anthony J. Simbana Loja, Emily N. Collins, Milenka Tello-Pereyra, Vicente A. Maldonado Cortes, Angel M. Macias Olarte, Jandin K. Ramirez, Amyeria Andujar, Lizbeth N. Zapata-Rodriguez, Yeriel M. Rodriguez Roman, Jayxander Vera Soto, Juan D. Paez Nieto, Leslie M. Pintado, Seylin M. Velasquez Hernandez, Jasmin A. Ramos Martinez, Brithanny G. Loja Berrones and Aury Nicolle Rodriguez Vasquez.
