Monroe residents interested in running for city office in the upcoming 2024 General Election can now prepare to file their candidacy. The City of Monroe has announced the official filing period, providing a window for qualified individuals to place their names on the ballot.
The filing period will commence on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 12:00 PM and conclude on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 12:00 PM. Aspiring candidates must submit a notice of candidacy to the Union County Board of Elections.
The Union County Board of Elections is located at 316 E. Windsor Street, Suite A, Monroe, NC. All required paperwork must be submitted during the specified filing period.
Candidates must use a notice of candidacy form prescribed by the State Board of Elections. This form requires a signature and must be notarized before submission.
