Dense Fog Advisory: Drive with Caution Until 11 AM in Central Georgia
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 11 AM EDT today for a large portion of central and north Georgia, with visibility under a quarter mile; drivers should slow down and use headlights.
Drivers in a wide area of central and north Georgia are advised to exercise extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Peachtree City GA. The advisory is in effect until 11:00 AM EDT today, September 30.
Visibility is reported to be less than one-quarter mile in the affected regions. This includes the counties of Forsyth, Hall, Banks, Jackson, Madison, North Fulton, Gwinnett, Barrow, Clarke, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Wilkes, South Fulton, DeKalb, Rockdale, Walton, Newton, Morgan, Greene, Taliaferro, Coweta, Fayette, Clayton, Spalding, Henry, Butts, Jasper, Putnam, Hancock, Warren, Meriwether, Pike, Upson, Lamar, Monroe, Jones, Baldwin, Washington, Glascock, Jefferson, Talbot, Taylor, Crawford, Bibb, Twiggs, Wilkinson, Johnson, Emanuel, Macon, Peach, Houston, Bleckley, Laurens, Treutlen, Dooly, Crisp, Pulaski, Wilcox, Dodge, Telfair, Wheeler, Montgomery, Toombs.
The NWS warns that low visibility can make driving conditions hazardous. If you must drive this morning, the NWS advises slowing down, using your headlights, and maintaining plenty of distance between your vehicle and others.
