City departments continue to serve Monahans residents

Monahans residents rely on a variety of city departments for essential services and community resources. From public safety to recreation, these departments work to support the daily lives of those living in Monahans, whether they're near the historic downtown or out towards the oil fields.

The Police Department and Fire Department are on the front lines of public safety, responding to emergencies and working to keep the community secure. Animal Control handles stray animals and enforces local ordinances related to pets, a common sight as folks travel our West Texas roads.

For infrastructure and daily needs, the Public Works and Street Department manage essential services like water, sewer, and road maintenance. Utilities ensure reliable access to power and other essential services, keeping homes and businesses humming.

Community engagement and development are supported by departments such as Economic Development, which works to attract and retain businesses, and Tourism, focused on promoting Monahans as a destination. The Library, a hub for learning, offers educational resources and programs for all ages, while Parks & Recreation manages local parks and recreational activities, providing spaces for families to enjoy.

Other key departments include Code Enforcement, addressing property standards; Planning & Zoning, guiding development; and the Cemetery, providing services for final arrangements. The Housing Authority, Human Resources, and Health Inspector also play vital roles in community well-being and city operations.
