A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Mobile Central, including Mobile, Prichard, and Theodore, effective immediately from the National Weather Service Mobile AL as of October 9 at 7:27 AM CDT. Residents must act now to ensure safety. The warning is in effect until 3:30 PM UTC today, October 9, 2026.

Life-threatening storm surge of 3-5 feet above ground is possible through Saturday morning. Flood preparations and ordered evacuations should be completed, with evacuees in shelters well away from storm surge flooding. Remain sheltered in a safe location and do not venture outside.

Dangerous winds are also expected, with peak gusts up to 65 mph. Expect significant wind damage, including potential for roofing and siding damage, mobile home damage, and downed trees. Move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous. Power and communication outages are likely.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 1-3 inches of rain expected, leading to potential major flooding. Emergency plans should include the potential for major flooding; evacuations and rescues are likely. Heed any flood watches and warnings, as failure to take action will likely result in serious injury or loss of life.
