A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Mobile Central, including Mobile, Prichard, and Theodore, effective immediately from the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL. Life-threatening storm surge of 2-4 feet above ground is possible through Saturday morning. Flood preparations and ordered evacuations should be complete; evacuees must be in shelters away from storm surge flooding. Remain sheltered in a safe location and do not venture outside.

Moderate flooding rain is also expected with an additional 1-3 inches possible, prompting a Flood Watch. Drivers should heed any flood watches and warnings, as moderate rainfall flooding may prompt evacuations and rescues. Roads may become impassable due to debris, particularly in urban areas.

Winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are forecast. Remaining efforts to protect property should be completed as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before the wind becomes hazardous. Potential impacts include damage to sheds and unanchored mobile homes, broken tree limbs, and scattered power outages. Tornadoes are not expected.
