"CERT | Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) What is C.E.R.T you ask? It stands for Community Emergency Response Team. We aim to teach our community to be prepared in case of natural or man-made disasters. As Floridians, we know, hurricanes are bound to happen. This FEMA-based course will teach you how to help yourselves and help your neighbors in case of a large-scale disaster. In these types of events, Police, Fire or EMS might not be able to respond to your home or community for 24-72 hours. We will teach you fire suppression skills, building search and rescue, first aid, victim triage, and more. The course is 4 weeks long. Two, 3-hour classes per week. We ask that students are city residents and are 16 and older. Come be a part of our Fire Department family! Location: 6500 Congress Ave, Suite 200, Boca Raton (Training Room 211A) AND Fire Training Complex, 800 Banyan Trail, Boca Raton Fee: FREE to City of Boca Raton Residents When: May 5 - May 28, 2026, 4 weeks, Tuesdays and Thursdays, Classes run from 6:00 - 9:00pm. For Information and to Register: Please email your name, email address, phone number and address to CERT Program Coordinator, Joe Ildefonso at [email protected].
