Drivers in several South Dakota counties should exercise extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Sioux Falls has issued the advisory, which is in effect until 10:00 AM CDT today, September 27th.
Visibility is expected to be one-quarter mile or less in the affected areas, making driving conditions hazardous. The advisory covers Beadle, Gregory, Jerauld, Sanborn, Miner, Brule, Aurora, Davison, Hanson, Charles Mix, Douglas, Hutchinson, and Bon Homme counties.
If you must drive within these areas this morning, the NWS advises slowing down, using your headlights, and leaving plenty of distance between your vehicle and others on the road. The advisory was issued at 5:38 AM CDT and will expire at 10:00 AM CDT today.
