Somerset Academy Miramar Celebrates 20 Years of A-Grades, Pursues Lighthouse Certification

Somerset Academy Miramar's main campus is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, marking two decades of educational excellence in the community. All three Somerset Academy Miramar schools have once again achieved an A school grade, reflecting the dedication of students, staff, and families.

The school is actively working towards Lighthouse Certification, the highest recognition for Leader in Me schools. This initiative empowers students to develop leadership potential, fostering a culture of integrity and initiative. Families interested in learning more about the Leader in Me program can find resources on leaderinme.org/family-development.

Campus improvements are also underway, designed to enhance student learning and recreational experiences. These planned enhancements include a new playground, a turf field, and a basketball court. These additions aim to provide students with updated facilities for both academic and extracurricular activities.

Student safety remains a top priority for Somerset Academy Miramar. Officer Olivares from the City of Miramar Police Department has returned to the campus, alongside a dedicated School Security Officer. Staff members also participate in ongoing safety training throughout the year to ensure a secure learning environment for all students. The school continues its 'Lead the Way!' theme for the current academic year, encouraging every student to strive for excellence.
