Dense Fog Advisory: Drive with Caution in Central North Dakota

A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for Bottineau, Rolette, McHenry, Pierce, Mercer, Oliver, Sheridan, Wells, Central and Southern Ward/Minot Area, Western McLean, and Eastern McLean counties until 12:00 PM CDT today, September 29, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Bismarck, ND, issued the advisory at 9:52 AM CDT.
Visibility is expected to be one-quarter mile or less in dense fog, creating hazardous driving conditions. The NWS advises all drivers to slow down, use their headlights, and leave plenty of distance between vehicles.
The advisory is in effect for North Central into portions of South Central North Dakota. Residents in the affected areas are urged to exercise extreme caution if travel is necessary this morning.
