North Hempstead Parks App: Pool Sign-Ups Now Open

North Hempstead launched a mobile application in early May that lets residents access information about the town's 53 parks and recreational facilities. The "North Hempstead Parks" app is available on Apple and Android devices.

Residents can currently sign up for pool memberships through the app. The Parks and Recreation Department plans to add interactive park maps with GPS, detailed information about playgrounds and sports fields, an event calendar, and accessibility details throughout the parks season.

Later features will include maintenance alerts for closures or renovations, online reservations and permit management for pavilions and sports fields, and information on paths and restrooms for people with disabilities.

Supervisor Jennifer DeSena said the app advances the town's "Parks Renaissance," an effort to improve and invest in park spaces. "Residents will be able to see everything our parks have to offer at a glance," she said.
