Poland - Janet Arlene Erskine, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. Janet was born on March 11, 1934, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late William C. and Stella (Citanski) Smith.She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who cherished every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janet’s love for her family was evident in everything she did, and her warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.Janet enjoyed gardening and took great pride in her flower gardens. She loved being outdoors, watching and feeding the birds in her yard, and finding peace in nature. She also enjoyed sewing, watching NASCAR racing, and listening to the music of Elvis Presley, of whom she was an avid fan.She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jimmy (Kim) Erskine IV of Poland, Terry (Steve) Valencia of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Sue (Rick) Clayton of Poland, Ohio, Amy Patsko of New Springfield, Ohio, and William (Sloan) Erskine of Mooresville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Kristen (Sabi) Chomczyk, Katie Clayton, Calvin (Audrianna) Clayton, Colby (Miah) Clayton, Joseph (Channing) Patsko, Michael (Courtney) Patsko, and Matthew Patsko; 14 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Calvin (Alice) Smith of Lowellville, Ohio.Per Janet’s request, private services were held Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main Street, Poland, with burial at Poland Riverside Cemetery.Family and friends are invited to visit www.beckerobits.com to share memories and condolences with Janet’s family.
