As we gather to celebrate Easter in our parish of the Immaculate Conception, we quietly rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The empty tomb gently reminds us that even in life’s trials, God’s love remains faithful and steady. Easter speaks to us of simple but profound hope that light overcomes darkness and...

Ogdensburg Celebrates Splash Pad Grand Opening Monday with Ribbon Cutting at 9:30am

"The City of Ogdensburg is excited to announce the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the city’s newest attraction, the Splash Pad. Located right next to the city pool and Dobisky Center, festivities to open the splash pad will begin at 9:30am on Monday, June 8th, with the ceremonial “first splash” right afterwards, featuring children from the Ogdensburg School District. City Manager Fonda Chronis describes the ribbon cutting as “A wonderful opportunity for the community to check out the latest attraction in the Greenbelt. While the pool is under reconstruction, we think the splash pad will be a fantastic alternative this year and a great enhancement for future years. Great things are happening in Ogdensburg, and this is just one example.” Members of the media and public are welcome to join the ribbon cutting ceremony. Along with this celebration, St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union will present the city with a $5,000 donation to support operations of the splash pad this year. The city thanks SLFCU for their continued support of the Ogdensburg community. Adds Chronis, “Support of our pool and splash pad from corporate sponsors is a key to keeping these quality-of-life things in the city, and we can’t thank St. Lawrence FCU enough for their donation.”Please click here to read the press release."
