A Wind Advisory has been issued by NWS Boston/Norton MA for Central Middlesex County, Western Essex, Southern Worcester, Western Norfolk, Southeast Middlesex, Northern Bristol, Western Plymouth, and Northwest Providence. The advisory is effective immediately, Saturday, September 26, at 1:24 PM EDT, and remains in effect until Sunday, September 27, at 12:00 PM EDT.
Northeast winds are expected to reach 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 35 to 50 mph. These conditions can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Residents are advised to use extra caution.
Impacts include the potential for unsecured objects to be blown around. Tree limbs could be blown down, and isolated power outages may occur. The National Weather Service notes that the prolonged duration of these winds, combined with heavy rain and fully leafed trees, may increase the risk of tree damage and power disruptions.
