Excel Academy Milton Honors Women at Denim & Pearls Brunch

Excel Academy of Southwest in Milton hosted a Denim & Pearls Women's Brunch, an event honoring women's contributions throughout history. Staff gave each student a tiara and pearls to symbolize individual worth and power.

Jumoke Tillman-Howell, a beauty professional and Central State University graduate, spoke to students about embracing their identities and pursuing their goals with confidence. Tillman-Howell is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.

Students participated in confidence-building activities and shared affirmations. Lori Hicks-Vega, director of student services, said the brunch created a space where students "felt seen, supported, and inspired to step boldly into their purpose."
