City of Milton to Host ‘PULL UP’ Parking and Downtown Revitalization Open House

City of Milton to Host ‘PULL UP’ Parking and Downtown Revitalization Open House MILTON, Fla., October 5, 2026 — The City of Milton recently asked a couple of questions on social media: Is downtown walkable? Who should decide how much parking a business needs—the business or the City? Milton had thoughts. More than 300 comments later, residents had weighed in on parking, pedestrian safety, accessibility, businesses and what downtown Milton needs next. Now, the City wants to take the conversation out of the comment section and bring it directly to City Hall. The City of Milton Planning & Development Department will host a Parking & Downtown Revitalization Open House at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Milton City Hall. As the City prepares to modernize its development code, planners are reviewing existing parking requirements while also looking at long-term strategies for walkability, land use and public spaces. “We know how to draft city code, but we don't want to build Milton's future in a vacuum,” said Planning Director Jacob Hullett. “True community planning requires public engagement. We’ve been reading your comments online, and now we want to sit down together to ensure our long-term growth reflects the actual needs of the people who live, shop and do business here.” At the interactive open house, attendees can move between displays, talk directly with staff, ask questions, share ideas and provide feedback on parking and the future of downtown. Whether you joined the conversation online or have a brand-new idea for Milton's future, pull up. We want to hear from you. For more information, contact the City of Milton Public Information Office at (850) 983-5400 or [email protected]. ###
