The Adopt a Highway (AHP) program is a public-private partnership designed to address litter along Delaware's state highways. Groups of all types – civic organizations, businesses, scout troops, families, and individuals – can 'adopt' a two-mile section of highway and commit to keeping it clean by removing litter at least four times a year. In return, DelDOT provides safety vests, trash bags, and safety guidelines. A sign bearing the group's name is also erected at each end of the adopted section. The program helps to reduce litter, improve the appearance of our roadways, and foster community pride. More information and an application form can be found on this page.
