You can check the status of your tax refund online or by phone. You get a tax refund when you pay more income taxes than you owe. After you file your state income tax return, you can track the status of your tax refund online or by phone with the Georgia Department of Revenue. Tax refund processing times vary and depend on the accuracy of the original return, but you'll get your refund more quickly if you file your tax return electronically. Most refunds are issued within 21 days of the return being received. However, the process may take up to 90 days. If your tax refund issue involves a deceased taxpayer, a lost, stolen, or stale-dated check, or a changed name, contact the Department of Revenue for assistance. Related: Taxes and Refunds Gather What You'll Need In order to check the status of your tax refund, you’ll need information from your most recently filed income tax return: Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) Exact dollar amount of your tax refund Track Your Tax Refund You can check the status of your tax refund online or by phone. Track Your Tax Refund Online You can use the DOR Georgia Tax Center online portal to check the status of your tax return. Follow the prompts to check your tax refund status. You do not need an account to check your refund status online. You can create or log in to your Georgia Tax Center online account to sign up for electronic notifications if you’d like to be notified when your return is filed and when your refund is issued. By Phone Call the DOR automated telephone line at 877-423-6711 to check the status of your tax refund. Press option 2 (“Individual Income Tax Information”), then option 2 to inquire about the status of your refund. Follow the prompts to check your tax refund status. Next Steps Your tax refund will be either electronically deposited into your bank account or mailed to you as a paper check. Most tax filers should expect to receive their refund electronically deposited into their bank account, unless otherwise noted on their returns. If you’re a first-time filer or have not filed in 5 or more years, you may receive a paper refund check in the mail. Renew a Boat Registration
Boat registration renewals are due every three years. Complete your boat registration renewal by submitting an application to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) along with your renewal application fee. All fees are based on the size of your vessel. See list of current vessel registration fees. Gather What You’ll Need To renew your boat registration, you will need the following: Georgia Vessel Registration Application (if renewing by mail) Driver’s license number Hull Identification Number (HIN) Vessel make, length, and year built Method of payment (credit card, check, or money order) Renew Your Boat Registration You can renew your boat registration online, by phone, or by mail. How to Renew a Boat Registration Renew online Visit the DNR Vessel Registration and Renewal portal. Log in or create a new account. Follow the steps to renew your registration. Credit card must be used for payment. Renew by phone Call DNR at 1-800-366-2661 to renew your boat registration. A credit card must be used for payment via phone. Renew by mail Mail a completed application and payment to: Georgia Department of Natural Resources P.O. Box 934943 Atlanta, GA 31193-4943 Make checks or money orders payable to GEORGIA DNR. Cash is not accepted for payments. Next Steps Boat registrations are renewed instantly after the application is approved. You will receive an updated registration card and boat decal in the mail approximately 7 to 14 business days after approval.
