Donate Today and Make a Difference in the Lives of St. Johns County's Older Adults

Donate Today and Make a Difference in the Lives of St. Johns County's Older Adults Your gift helps enable older St. Johns County residents to maintain their health, happiness, and independence through the many programs and services Council on Aging offers. There are many ways for you to give back to those in our community who have already given so much throughout their lives. With your help, we can be there for them today. Consider donating securely via GiveButter to the left or donations may also be mailed to: Council on Aging at 180 Marine Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084. Leave a Lasting Legacy! Mary Peck is a Legacy Donor who is making a difference to seniors in our community for generations to come through her planned gift. You can make a lasting difference as well! Have questions? Please contact COA Development Manager Amy Robinson Call - (904) 209-3637 [email protected] Giving programs with Council on Aging: - Annual or Monthly Pledges/Donations - Legacy Gifts/Planned Giving - Friends of COA - Business Supporters - Memory Enhancement Scholarships (IMEP) - Naming Opportunities - Program Sponsorships (Meals on Wheels, Sunshine Center, etc.) - Make a QCD From Your RMD Making a QCD From Your RMD At age 70½ or older, one of the best ways to make a charitable contribution can be through your traditional IRA. You can use your IRA income rather than cash to make charitable gifts by making a Qualified Charitable distribution (QCD) to your favorite charity. All you need to do is: - Contact your IRA administrator and authorize a direct transfer from your IRA to St. Johns County Council on Aging. - Have the IRA administrator make the check payable to St. Johns County Council on Aging. - Address: 180 Marine Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084 - Phone: 904-209-3700 - If you need it, our tax ID# 59-1525829 This QCD can satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year. It reduces your taxable income, which can help reduce your income taxes. The maximum amount for charitable distributions from your IRA cannot exceed $100,000 per calendar year. (The starting age to begin making Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) now is 72, but QCDs still can begin at 70½.) You can also name a 501(c)(3) public charity, like the Council on Aging, as your IRA beneficiary, to enable you to fund your charitable and legacy objectives in an efficient and effective way while potentially experiencing tax savings for your heirs and your estate. Always consult with your financial advisor. All gifts are processed by St. Johns County Council on Aging, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization (EIN: 59-1525829)
