ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla., April 1, 2026 — The St. Johns County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller’s Office is thrilled to announce the acquisition of a state-of-the-art hologram communication system, purchased at a significant discount from the City of Jacksonville. “Navigating our courthouse can be a challenge for even the most experienced customers,” said Clerk and Comptroller, Brandon J. Patty. “This technology will provide everyone with quick answers, seamless directions, and plenty of dad jokes to ensure our office continues to provide the very best service possible!” The Patty Public Service Portal (PPSP) features a life-sized, interactive hologram of Clerk Patty that will greet visitors, answer frequently asked questions, and provide guidance on services before individuals proceed through security screening. Future uses being explored include marriage ceremonies, tax deed sales, and evidence handling. The advanced artificial intelligence portal will be installed later this spring at the entrance of the Richard O. Watson Judicial Center to enhance customer service. Originally reported to cost approximately $75,000 after installation and production, the system was previously deployed inside the Jacksonville International Airport terminal. While the system does require substantial energy to operate continuously, we anticipate that improved efficiency and reduced wait times will offset energy costs passed along to residents. Learn more and experience an interactive demonstration of the technology here. ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla., April 7, 2026 — The St. Johns County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller’s Office will participate in Operation Green Light, a statewide driver license reinstatement event, from April 11 – April 25, 2026. Operation Green Light, also known as Driver License Reinstatement Days, as referred to in Florida Statutes § 322.75, is an annual event where clerks’ offices waive collection agency surcharges for individuals with overdue court fines and unpaid traffic tickets. During this two-week period, our Clerks will help drivers save money, reduce their financial stress, and get back on the road with a legal driver license. Payments, including the option to set up a payment plan, can be made in person at the Richard O. Watson Judicial Center (St. Johns County Courthouse), 4010 Lewis Speedway, St. Augustine. Payments can also be made online here. Only collection surcharges are waived during this event. Late fees cannot be waived. Individuals who have not yet been referred to a collection agency but have an expired payment plan may be eligible to reinstate their suspended driver license by establishing a new payment plan and meeting all requirements. Additional fees for reinstatement with the Department of Motor Vehicles may apply. For more information about Operation Green Light, our Customer Care Call Center is available Monday – Friday, from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, at (904) 819-3600, and by email at [email protected].
