Pine Bush High School Students Paint Welcome Mural in Main Lobby

Eleven students at Pine Bush High School painted a colorful mural in the main lobby after science teacher Kara Sprague proposed the project to the art department.

National Art Honor Society advisor Janice Barth developed the proposal into a community service project. Jake Thompson and Jackson Hujus designed the mural, and Caroline Barth transferred the design to the wall. Students painted after school and during class time, with some staying past 5 p.m. multiple times a week.

The student painters were Jackson Hujus, Caroline Barth, Jake Thompson, Pranom Dey, Ava Perillo, Dominic Liardi, Parker Scoville, Maya Barba, Conor Kilgore, Ziare Clinton, and Sophia Mavelyn Aquino. Art teachers Janice Barth and Julie Palinkas also supported the work.
