Miami Public Schools Names Robert Henderson Football Coach

Miami Public Schools named Robert Henderson head coach of the Wardogs football program.
Henderson coached at the college level at Southwest Baptist University, the University of Central Arkansas, Virginia Military Institute, and Hendrix College. He was head coach at Independence High School and Cherryvale High School in Kansas, and held coordinator positions in Texas and Arkansas.
At Independence, Henderson increased offseason participation and summer strength training numbers while leading a young roster through competitive matchups against top-ranked opponents. At Cherryvale, he improved win totals, expanded the roster, and elevated defensive performance despite limited returning starters.
Henderson holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas. He is certified in player safety and development and participates in professional coaching organizations.
Athletic Director Millie Gillion said Henderson's experience developing student-athletes both on and off the field made him a strong fit for the program. "Coach Henderson brings leadership and experience as a player and coach," Gillion said.
