To become a police chaplain, applicants must be Florida residents, ordained or licensed clergy members, and have no prior criminal convictions or offenses involving moral turpitude. Candidates must submit a resume and three letters of recommendation. The Police Chief makes the final candidate approval.
Interested individuals can obtain a Volunteer Chaplain application from the department. The program relies on dedicated volunteers to support the police department and the Miami Gardens community during challenging times.
