Madonna & Taylor Swift Dazzle at 2026 MTV VMAs

Music titans Madonna and Taylor Swift captivated audiences at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, which aired live Sunday night on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. The ceremony saw Madonna deliver a memorable performance and collect multiple awards, while Swift made history with a new honor.

Madonna, performing at the VMAs for the first time in 23 years, opened the show with a high-energy set alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX. She performed their collaboration "Bring Your Love" from Madonna's album Confessions II, with Charli XCX joining for a remix of Madonna's "Danceteria." Seth Rogen, Sombr, and Julia Garner also made appearances.

The night proved exceptionally successful for Madonna, who emerged as the biggest winner with seven trophies. She secured Artist of the Year, and her collaboration with Carpenter, "Bring Your Love," won Best Collaboration. "Confessions II - The Film" earned her the award for Best Dance.

Taylor Swift also made her mark, becoming the inaugural recipient of the Artist Director Honors. Dakota Johnson presented Swift with the award, celebrating her directorial vision and contributions to music video storytelling. Swift followed the presentation by premiering the music video for her new single, "Patient Zero," which she directed and stars in with Johnson and Colin Farrell.

Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia" took home Video of the Year. Other notable winners included BTS for Song of the Year and Best K-Pop with "Swim," and Sienna Spiro for Best New Artist.
