MDCPS: Threats Lead to Arrests for School Safety

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) will arrest anyone making threats against schools, regardless of intent. District officials stated that such threats, whether serious warnings or jokes, disrupt the learning environment, divert law enforcement from genuine dangers, waste taxpayer money and increase student stress, anxiety and absenteeism.

The district issued the warning to deter disruptive behavior and maintain a safe learning atmosphere for students.
