Miami Beach residents attending public events will now encounter new security protocols. A clear bag policy is in effect for all public gatherings, aiming to enhance safety and streamline entry into venues.
The new policy mandates that all bags brought to public events must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC. These clear bags cannot exceed dimensions of 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Attendees also have the option of bringing a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag, such as a Ziploc bag.
For personal items, small clutch bags or wallets are permissible, even if they are opaque. However, these smaller items must not be larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. The policy specifically prohibits larger items like backpacks, fanny packs, mesh bags, briefcases, luggage, and large purses.
Officials will make exceptions for guests with medical necessities. These individuals may bring non-clear bags, but designated staff will inspect their contents upon entry. The city implemented this measure to improve public safety for all attendees.
Residents should plan accordingly when attending any public event in Miami Beach. Adhering to these guidelines will help ensure a smoother and quicker entry process.
