Bay Harbor Islands residents will soon be eligible for a new, reduced-cost SunPass toll plan for the Shepard Broad Causeway. The plan launches Oct. 1, 2026.

The one-year subscription costs $200 and allows eligible drivers to bypass per-trip fees on the causeway. Applicants must prove residency with a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and a property tax bill, FPL or water bill, or cable bill, all showing a Bay Harbor Islands address. The plan applies only to two-axle, non-commercial vehicles.

This resident plan aims to reduce the financial impact on those who frequently use the causeway for commutes and errands. A flat rate will provide predictable annual travel costs.

Separately, all drivers will face increased toll rates on the Broad Causeway beginning Dec. 1, 2026. The new rates will affect all vehicle axle classifications for both SunPass and TOLL-BY-PLATE transactions.
