Residents in Cave Creek, New River, and Rio Verde/Salt River areas are advised to monitor weather conditions closely due to a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Phoenix AZ. The statement is effective until 12:30 PM MST today, October 12, 2026.

At 11:58 AM MST, Doppler radar indicated a line of showers extending from over Cave Creek to near Carefree, moving northeast at 30 mph. This includes areas from 7 miles east of New River to 7 miles northwest of Scottsdale.

Hazards include potential landspouts and wind gusts up to 40 mph. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible, and gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Torrential rainfall is also occurring, which may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive through flooded roadways.

Locations impacted include Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Carefree, Desert Mountain, Camp Creek, and Seven Springs. Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions.
