What is a Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW)?

What is a Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW)? The Recovery Friendly Workplace Program will provide free training on mental health, substance use, and discussing sensitive topics. Organizations that choose to be designated as an RFW are then provided the resources and support they need to foster a supportive environment that encourages the success of their employees at no cost.    Why become a Recovery Friendly Workplace? There is a need for substance use supports in the workplace: 1 in 12 (or roughly 8.5%) employed persons struggle with addiction. Employees in recovery are more reliable: On average, employees in recovery miss 13.7 fewer shifts than those with a substance use disorder, and 3.6 fewer shifts than those who aren't struggling. Your employees are looking to you for help: 87% of employees think that actions from their employer can help with stress, burnout, and depression. Outcomes for participating workplaces may include: Increased productivity Healthier employees Less absenteeism/turnover Greater employee satisfaction A more supportive work environment Increased morale Improved communication Increased customer loyalty What We Offer: Education on mental health, substance use and recovery, and difficult discussions. Policy review and help implementing recovery-friendly practices, and more! Recovery Friendly Workplace Advisor (RFWA) to help create positive change in the workplace. Once training is completed, a new Recovery Friendly Workplace will receive free marketing assets such as RFW toolkits, stickers, certificates, and more, to promote mental health and recovery resources. How much? COMPLETELY FREE If your organization is interested in becoming a Recovery Friendly Workplace, complete the RFW Letter of Intent and submit it, as an attachment, in an email to [email protected]. You may also print the completed form and mail it to the address shown below.
