Dangerous Lake Michigan Conditions Expected Through Thursday

Residents and visitors in Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha Counties are advised to stay out of Lake Michigan waters due to a Beach Hazards Statement issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Milwaukee/Sullivan. This statement is effective immediately, from 9:03 PM CDT on September 22, until 1:00 PM CDT on Thursday, September 24.

Life-threatening waves of 3 to 5 feet and dangerous currents are expected. The NWS warns of dangerous swimming conditions due to high waves and onshore winds. Strong structural and longshore currents are anticipated, and rip currents are possible.

For your safety, remain out of the water and avoid dangerous areas such as piers and breakwalls during this period.
