A Special Weather Statement has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Jackson, KY, warning of strong wind gusts this evening as the remnants of Hurricane Isaias impact eastern Kentucky.
Southeasterly winds are expected to reach 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. Isolated gusts up to approximately 40 mph are possible in exposed areas near Lake Cumberland. These conditions could blow around unsecured outdoor objects and decor.

This Special Weather Statement is effective from October 10, 2026, at 5:00 PM EDT and will expire at 8:00 PM EDT tonight. Residents are advised to secure any outdoor items that could be affected by strong winds.
