Alfred G. Sanchez, a loving, adventurous, and courageous man, passed away on April 25, 2026, in Odessa, Texas, at the age of 76.Born on May 5, 1949, in Lamesa, Texas, he carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and devotion throughout his life. He was a proud veteran whose service to his country reflected the strength of character that those who knew him came to admire. Alfred served in the Army for 674 days and earned recognition as a sharpshooter, a distinction that spoke to both his discipline and his steady focus. He carried his military service with quiet pride, and his time in uniform remained an important part of his story.Alfred built his life around the people he loved most. Family was the center of his world, and the time he shared with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought him deep joy. He is survived by his sons, Alfred Sanchez Jr. and John Anthony Sanchez. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert Sanchez and Gilbert Sanchez Sr. He was preceded in death by his sister, Emma Reyes, and his brothers, Adolfo Sanchez, Candelario Sanchez, Albert, Luis, Arthur, Richard, and Ennis Jr. He leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward his memory and the love he gave so freely. Those who knew Alfred will remember a man who enjoyed life in simple but meaningful ways. He loved to go fishing, where he found peace and enjoyment in the quiet moments outdoors. He also loved watching sports and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, cheering on his team with enthusiasm and pride. Whether he was spending time with family, following a game, or enjoying the calm of a fishing trip, Alfred found happiness in the things that brought people together. His friends and family will remember him as someone who lived with courage and warmth. He had a loving spirit that made others feel welcome, an adventurous nature that gave him a full and interesting life, and a brave heart that carried him through both challenges and triumphs. He was a proud veteran, and he never lost sight of the importance of service, family, and faith in the bonds that hold loved ones close.Alfred’s greatest accomplishment was not found in titles or recognition, but in the life, he built and the example he set. He showed those around him what it meant to be dependable, caring, and strong. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will remain a lasting comfort to those who knew and loved him.May he be remembered with gratitude for the life he lived and the love he shared. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
