Eastern Florida State College (EFSC) will host its "Poetry Speaks in All Languages" Poetry Slam from Oct. 21 to Nov. 17, 2026. The event provides a platform for students to showcase talent and express creativity.

The contest is open to all currently enrolled EFSC students who are U.S. legal residents and at least 18 years old, or have parental consent. Prizes will be awarded for first through fifth place, as well as for Best International Poem Presentation and Best International Education Week Theme.

To enter, students may contact Professors Rachel Rinehart at [email protected] or 321-433-5237, or Elaine Fowler at [email protected] or 321-433-5243. A signup sheet is also available in office 225 of Building 2 on the Palm Bay campus. Each student can win only one prize.

Judges will select winners on Nov. 18, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. ET in the Auditorium on the Palm Bay Campus. A panel of randomly selected peers will evaluate participants on poetic technique, presentation performance, and originality. Themed prizes will be judged separately. Potential winners will receive notification via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person. Unclaimed prizes must be picked up at the Palm Bay Campus, Building Auditorium, Room 250, within ten days of notification.
