Trump and Xi Conclude Beijing Summit with Trade Promises, Limited Concrete Outcomes

President Donald Trump concluded two days of meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing with pledges to improve trade relations between the two countries. Discussions also centered on North Korea's nuclear ambitions.

Several business deals, valued at billions of dollars, were announced during the visit. Boeing secured orders for 300 aircraft. However, the summit produced no comprehensive agreement to address the trade imbalance that the Trump administration has frequently criticized.

The U.S. President repeatedly called for fair trade practices between the two nations. China currently exports significantly more goods to the U.S. than it imports.

Both leaders affirmed their commitment to denuclearizing the Korean peninsula. Trump urged China to exert greater pressure on North Korea to halt its nuclear weapons program.

While the meetings fostered positive dialogue, analysts noted the absence of concrete policy changes and long-term solutions to existing trade disputes.
