Rolla City Council Approves Rewritten Municipal Code

Rolla City Council will vote on a comprehensive rewrite of the city's municipal code, the final step in a legal review that began in June 2023.

The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on December 9, 2025, and voted to recommend approval of the 1,271-page code. City staff selected General Code for the codification and legal analysis work.

The last complete review of Rolla's municipal code occurred in September 1988. The update ensures ordinances comply with current state law and address changing demographics and governance needs.
