Al Duffy Retires After 30 Years With Collier County Fire Rescue

Al Duffy retired in June 2019 as Battalion Chief of North Collier Fire Rescue after spending three decades with Collier County fire departments.

Duffy began his fire service career in 1981 as a volunteer with the Hagerman Fire Department in Long Island, New York. He moved to Naples in September 1985 and volunteered with East Naples and Marco Island fire departments before joining the City of Naples Fire Department in June 1986. He transferred to North Naples Fire Department in July 1989, remaining there after it became North Collier Fire Rescue in 2015.

He holds an associate degree in Fire Science Technology and certifications as a Florida State Emergency Medical Technician, Pump Operator, Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector II, and Fire Instructor II.
