Winter Storm Warning Issued for Big Belt, Bridger, and Castle Mountains
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Big Belt, Bridger, and Castle Mountains, effective Saturday, October 10, at 6:00 PM MDT, through Monday, October 12, at 6:00 AM MDT, with heavy snow and gusty winds expected.
Residents in the Big Belt, Bridger, and Castle Mountains should prepare for a Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Great Falls, Montana. The warning is effective from Saturday, October 10, at 6:00 PM MDT, and will remain in effect until Monday, October 12, at 6:00 AM MDT.
Heavy snow is expected, with total accumulations between 6 and 12 inches. Winds are anticipated to gust as high as 40 mph. These conditions could make travel very difficult, and gusty winds combined with heavy, wet snow may bring down tree branches, leading to isolated power outages.
