Wind Advisory Issued: Gusts Up to 50 MPH Expected Tonight Through Sunday Morning

A Wind Advisory has been issued for portions of East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, effective from midnight EDT tonight until 8:00 AM EDT Sunday. East winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, are expected.

This advisory, issued by the National Weather Service Morristown TN, impacts the following counties: Scott, Campbell, Claiborne, Hancock, Hawkins, Sullivan, Morgan, Anderson, Union, Grainger, Hamblen, Northwest Cocke, Northwest Greene, Washington, Northwest Carter, Roane, Loudon, Knox, Jefferson, NW Blount, North Sevier, Sequatchie, Bledsoe, Rhea, Meigs, McMinn, Northwest Monroe, Marion, Hamilton, Bradley, West Polk in Tennessee, and Lee, Wise, and Scott in Virginia.

Residents should prepare for gusty winds that can blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs may be blown down, and isolated power outages are possible. Driving may be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution when traveling.
