Police have conducted arrests related to an alleged scheme where individuals reportedly helped migrants submit fraudulent asylum applications. This action follows a BBC investigation in April that highlighted claims of law firms and advisors facilitating migrants in posing as gay to secure asylum.
The BBC's report outlined how some legal professionals and advisors allegedly instructed migrants to misrepresent their sexual orientation. These instructions reportedly aimed to strengthen asylum claims.
Authorities initiated their operations after reviewing the information presented in the media investigation. Police focused on identifying and apprehending individuals suspected of direct involvement in organizing or assisting these alleged fraudulent claims. The arrests mark a development in the ongoing scrutiny of asylum processes and potential abuses within the system.
