Unknown County Offices Closed for Columbus Day

Please be advised that all Unknown County offices, including the courthouse, administrative offices, and the public library, will be closed on Monday, October 9, 2023, in observance of Columbus Day. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 8:30 AM. Emergency services will remain operational.

The Unknown County Board of County Commissioners meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:00 PM in the County Administration Building, located at 123 Main Street, Unknownville, SC. For those who need to register to vote, the deadline to register in-person at the Horry County Voters Registration and Elections office is Friday, Oct. 2. You have until Sunday, Oct. 4 to register online, here. The Early Voting period runs from Monday, Oct. 19 to Saturday, Oct. 31. Early voting centers will open from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. All centers will be closed on Sunday, Oct. 25.
