The City of Tavares NFL FLAG Football League is a 5-on-5 recreational co-ed program designed to teach football fundamentals, sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence in a safe, non-contact environment. The first rule of flag football is simple—there is no contact. Players do not tackle, dive, block, or screen. Instead, each athlete wears a belt with flags attached to their hips. A play ends when a defender removes one or both flags from the ball carrier. This exciting format creates a fast-moving game where speed, agility, sportsmanship, teamwork, and football fundamentals take center stage while keeping the game safe and enjoyable for players of all skill levels.
