"Final Public Hearing on the FY 2027 Budget September 21 • Mary Esther, FL Skip to Main Content Home News Flash Final Public Hearing on the FY 2027 Budget September 21 News Flash Final Public Hearing on the FY 2027 Budget September 21 City News Updates Posted on September 15, 2026 The Mary Esther City Council will hold the second and final public hearing on the City's proposed Fiscal Year 2027 Budget on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 195 Christobal Road N. At this hearing, the Council will adopt the final property tax (millage) rate and the final budget for the fiscal year that begins October 1. The proposed rate of 5.0261 mills is the same rate the City has levied since FY 2020 and is below the rolled-back rate, meaning the City is not increasing property taxes this year. The budget puts $12.57 million into capital projects in FY 2027, led by the Azalea Neighborhood Infrastructure project, which will replace water lines, rehabilitate sewer lines and manholes, repave streets, and replace curbs, and engineering for the first of two phases of the Highway 98 water main replacement. The Council will also consider a 5% water and sewer rate adjustment to continue supporting investments in our water and sewer infrastructure. Residents are encouraged to attend and share their comments before the Council takes its final votes. The full proposed budget is available to read online or download below.
