Rousey vs. Carano Targeted for Record-Setting Purse at Featherweight Bout

Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano are scheduled to fight at featherweight, with Rousey stating the fight will set a new purse record for female fighters. The bout will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

Rousey last competed in 2016, after a loss to Amanda Nunes. Carano last fought in 2009 against Cris Cyborg. Both fighters spoke at a press conference promoting the event, which is being broadcast on Netflix by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).

Rousey stated she initially approached the UFC about staging her comeback, but terms could not be agreed upon. Francis Ngannou vs. Philipe Lins and Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry are also scheduled on the fight card.
